2007 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL
Exocet of Messilah is an X119, a 40-foot (11.92 metre) racing yacht built by X-Yachts of Denmark. She was designed as an offshore racer-cruiser with distinctive hull lines and an impressive turn of speed, capable of passages of about 800 miles. She has enjoyed great success racing in the Middle East and more recently in European waters. Until this year she has been operated as a private yacht with a mixed crew of young executives and the next generation of industry leaders.

Team Exocet is an investment in success. From Kuwait to Cowes the team of 10 have consistently performed to secure her place at the front of the fleet. The vision of developing team spirit and personal growth, of young professional men and women, has been fulfilled by a motivated crew who are now experienced in racing on World Class circuits.
ON THE WATER
Exocet’s pedigree speaks for itself, with a history of victory and impressive results against an increasingly challenging field of competition:

Since returning to UK waters she has been raced regularly in a number of regattas, including Cork week 2004, Dartmouth, Lymington, Yarmouth and over 14 Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) offshore races, taking her to France and the Channel Islands. She successfully completed the 2005 Fastnet race
. Her long term plan is to qualify and compete in Fastnet 2007/2009 with continued attendance at all of the major UK regattas.
OFF THE WATER
Exocet’s achievements to date are due to the dedication and determination of her volunteer crew. Sponsorship will allow the yacht to continue providing the platform for young professionals to experience and grow from the team challenge of racing in the maritime environment.
Sponsorship of Exocet will widen the exposure of GSK within the sailing fraternity at sea and ashore as you are represented at the UK’s prestigious sailing regattas. As a sponsor free yacht Exocet’s image already appears regularly in RORC posters and leading the fleet in the 2007 Beken’s calendar.
Team Exocet is committed to providing the widest possible exposure to your firm, using a diverse range of media available to us. The team is non-profit making; we look to take full advantage of all investment in order to improve the boat’s competitive edge through the purchase of quality sails, maintenance and crew equipment.
SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE
The package is of course open to negotiation to allow both parties to meet their needs. The aim of the package is to provide:
• Exposure of company name and logo during events and within yachting/financial/industrial and defence media.
• Sponsor representation within the crew at agreed events.
• Corporate hosting at high profile regattas.
These aims will be achieved by:
• Naming Rights – Exclusive naming rights to re-roll the team as GSK desire. This has been employed with great success with a number of other yachts from Hugo Boss to B&Q. This will draw media attention as the yacht races in your name.
• Boat Adornment – Display of your logo or banner on the boat hull, mainsail, and spinnakers while racing. Display of your company flag in boat rigging while ashore.
• Crew Branding – The addition of your logo onto crew clothing and equipment.
• Sponsors Representative – Inclusion of company representatives or guests of the sponsor as part of the crew for agreed events.
