to Hornet Sailing Club marina
Exocet is
berthed at the Hornet Sailing Club marina (Hornet)
at
Gosport, Hants.
The postal code for the marina is
PO12 2AQ. Hornet
is part of the Joint Services Adventurous Sail Training
Centre (JSASTC).
By car, exit the M27 at Junction 11. From there follow
signs to Gosport along the
A32. After
about 3 miles, in which you will pass by DARA Fleetlands
and numerous traffic lights, you will reach a pair of small
roundabouts at Fort Brockhurst. Turn right at the second of
these roundabouts, picking up military signs to
JSASTC. This
will lead you along Military road, past HMS Sultan with its
two brick forts.
At the next roundabout (public house, “The Cocked Hat”)
turn left and after a mile there is a small one-way system.
Follow the road around to the right, then turn left
immediately into South street (sign-posted Town Centre.)
Pass by Morrisons Superstore (on your left) and turn right
at the George and Dragon public house (difficult to see)
into Haslar road.
After 400 yards, with
Haslar Marina complex
on both sides, proceed over the single carriageway bridge
(traffic lights either end) and turn right immediately at
the end of the bridge into the JSASTC/Hornet car park.
At the gate into the car park, a Security Guard will ask
for your name and you should inform him that you have come
to sail on Exocet.
Due to traffic congestion, you should expect to take at
least 30 minutes to reach Hornet from the M27.

If you would rather reach Exocet by using British
Rail, the nearest railway station is Portsmouth
Harbour. From there walk 100 yards to the Gosport
Passenger Ferry. When you reach the Gosport side,
follow signs to JSASTC which involves a walk of about half
a mile.
